His old lover, Miska, unexpectedly returns to the village and visits the woman. Panni receives him with a smile and, after mutual recriminations, expels him. She tells her husband everything, but Komáromi, unmanly, does not defend his wife himself, but throws Mishka out of the ball with others, and she hates him forever.
